Job Description

The Director, Cloud Enablement & Transformation leads an expert team of highly skilled and diverse technology leaders, Cloud Architects, Engineers, Platform Specialists, and Transformation professionals responsible for establishing, advancing, and governing BOKF's cloud adoption strategy and modernization journey.

This position provides strategic oversight of enterprise cloud services, application modernization programs, cloud platform engineering, automation capabilities, production support, project execution, and transformation initiatives that enable the lines of business to meet corporate strategic objectives. The Director serves as the communications link and strategic liaison between business leadership, technology teams, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, risk management, vendors, and executive stakeholders.

This role is accountable for developing technology plans, roadmaps, operating models, and investment recommendations that advance BOKF's long- and short-term strategic goals. The Director translates business needs into secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud and platform capabilities that improve speed to market, operational efficiency, developer productivity, and enterprise resiliency.

How You'll Spend Your Time

Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment
• You will develop and implement enterprise cloud enablement and transformation plans that support strategic long- and short-term goals for BOKF and its lines of business.
• You will develop a thorough understanding of business strategies, operating processes, information needs, and administrative procedures to ensure cloud and modernization initiatives enable measurable business outcomes.
• You will serve as a trusted advisor and communications link between business leadership, technology leadership, and enterprise stakeholders regarding cloud strategy, modernization priorities, technology risks, and investment decisions.
• You will envision, produce, and advance strategic playbooks and multi-year roadmaps that encompass cloud platforms, application modernization, automation, observability, platform engineering, lifecycle management, and emerging technology enablement.

Cloud Transformation & Modernization
• You will orchestrate and deliver foundational cloud capabilities that accelerate enterprise digital transformation initiatives and enable modern, resilient, and scalable business technology solutions.
• You will establish modernization frameworks, migration patterns, reference architectures, and transformation playbooks that help applications move from legacy environments to cloud-enabled and cloud-native architectures.
• You will drive initiatives that reduce technical debt, improve operational efficiency, strengthen resiliency, and increase technology agility through automation and modernization.

Platform Engineering & Cloud Services
• You will lead an expert team responsible for designing, building, improving, operating, and advancing cloud platform services across AWS and other strategic cloud environments.
• You will establish enterprise standards for cloud architecture, automation, platform engineering, reliability engineering, observability, governance, and operational excellence.
• You will champion Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, GitOps, self-service engineering capabilities, and shift-left practices that improve developer productivity and accelerate solution delivery.

Operational Delivery & Governance
• You will direct the design, development, implementation, support, and operation of automated systems and cloud platforms to ensure delivery teams adhere to business requirements, company methodology for project management, enterprise architecture standards, security controls, and compliance expectations.
• You will establish KPIs and KRIs that measure platform health, cloud adoption, transformation progress, operational effectiveness, resiliency, customer experience, and value realization.
• You will make recommendations for system enhancements, platform improvements, procedure improvements, and technology investments that strengthen the effectiveness of technology delivery.

Financial, Vendor & Resource Leadership
• You will prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets, including resource planning, project financial analysis, cloud consumption governance, forecasting, optimization, and financial tracking.
• You will provide leadership for strategic vendor partnerships, cloud providers, managed service relationships, consulting engagements, contract negotiations, and service agreements.
• You will ensure technology investments are aligned with enterprise priorities and deliver measurable business, operational, risk, and resiliency outcomes.

Talent & Organizational Leadership
• You will direct leaders, architects, engineers, and transformation specialists by creating, delivering, and monitoring meaningful performance goals and clearly understood expectations.
• You will build organizational capability through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, training, succession planning, and internal mobility opportunities.

Education Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Management, or a related field and at least 12 years of progressively responsible technology experience delivering enterprise-level IT solutions, leading highly skilled technical professionals, managing financial operations, administering service contracts, and driving organizational transformation.
• Significant experience leading enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, application modernization, platform engineering, DevOps, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated success leading managers, architects, engineers, and technical professionals through large-scale technology change.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar technology budgets, vendor relationships, cloud providers, managed service relationships, and contract negotiations.
• Experience operating in financial services or another highly regulated environment is preferred.
• Consideration is given to advanced technical certifications in cloud technologies, infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity, DevOps, automation, project management, and technology leadership.

Technical Skills & Knowledge
Cloud Platforms & Architecture
• Deep understanding of AWS services, architecture, landing zones, multi-account operating models, migration strategies, cloud governance, and operational best practices.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, hybrid cloud architectures, enterprise network integration, identity integration, and secure cloud connectivity patterns.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient, scalable, secure, and compliant cloud platforms for enterprise workloads.

DevOps, Automation & Platform Engineering
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CloudFormation, automation frameworks, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience establishing platform engineering capabilities, reusable service patterns, self-service capabilities, developer enablement models, and shift-left practices.
• Ability to guide engineering teams toward automation, standardization, continuous improvement, and measurable operational maturity.

Infrastructure, Operations & Resiliency
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including compute, storage, virtualization, operating systems, networking, data center services, business continuity, disaster recovery, and hybrid operations.
• Experience with observability platforms, monitoring solutions, operational analytics, Site Reliability Engineering principles, incident management, problem management, change management, and ITIL practices.
• Knowledge of proactive lifecycle management, platform currency, technical debt reduction, resiliency planning, and operational readiness practices.

Application Modernization & Engineering Enablement
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture patterns, application migration strategies, modernization approaches, containerization, Kubernetes, OpenShift, microservices, API-driven integration, and modern application delivery methodologies.
