Requisition Summary

Kenworth Renton is seeking an energetic, details driven team member to collaboratively drive quality improvements throughout our heavy-duty truck plant in Renton, WA. The best candidate will help increase our data analytic capabilities using Excel, Access, BI systems, and SharePoint. Candidate should be familiar with other analytical tools like Tableau, SAP, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Job activities include leading and participating in continuous improvement projects and other quality assurance functions as assigned. Responsibilities also include processing of nonconforming parts (NCP's), sending disposition requests, issuing MDR's (Material Disposition Reviews), handling SR's (shipping releases), and updating QA databases (reflections). Candidate will help support supplier requests for additional information regarding rejected parts (i.e. clarification of specifications, photos, etc.); while working with departments to determine root cause, responsibility, and corrective action for nonconforming parts.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Support ISO audit processes and tools to ensure compliance to internal (Kenworth) and external (Regulatory) standards and requirements while driving closure as needed.
  • Conduct ISO training.
  • Evaluate complex claims and make claim payment recommendations per PACCAR procedures and policies.
  • Respond to dealer, DSM, vendor and customer inquiries.
  • Communicate division policies and procedural requirements and technical information in a professional and timely manner.
  • Communicate warranty issues to plant management, quality and production teams.
  • Perform analysis of warranty data to define trends, pinpoint issues, and identify issues of high dollar and frequency.
  • Lead teams and individuals in reducing and eliminating warranty issues through quality improvement initiatives and projects as well as initiatives with customers and dealers.
  • Negotiate with various interest groups (Customers, Dealers, Plant, Division, and Corporate) to achieve a reduction in warranty issues and costs while simultaneously maintaining good will as well as supporting and promoting the Kenworth product.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minium of five years of relevant experience including at least two years in quality management and one year in organizational management within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience creating, implementing, and maintaining internal quality systems/document management systems, standards/SOPs for internal and external applications.
  • Comfortable communicating and presenting to senior management and cross-functional teams in a way that enables non-technical team members to understand the quality requirements and metrics.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field required
