A cover letter is required for a complete application.DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWJoin Residential, Retail and Supply Chain Services (RRSS) is a broad and complex campus department consisting of five key units: Housing, Dining and Hospitality (HDH), Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS), the UC San Diego Bookstore, Triton Print & Digital Media, and the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). RRSS aims to deliver innovative services to activate the campus and meet the diverse needs of the UC San Diego community.
IPPS, which is an industry leader in supply chain integration and continues to innovate to serve UC San Diego's growing student population, supports the procurement, payment and fulfillment of business requirements for UC San Diego. IPPS is an operational and organizational alignment unifying several administrative and service divisions into a single business perspective and is comprised of Disbursements, Mail Services, Logistics, Procurement and Contracts, and Travel. For UC San Diego, IPPS manages the sourcing, ordering, delivery, invoice processing and settlement for all goods and services as a continuous process.
Position OverviewIn this role, you will apply your skills in business process analysis, system configuration, and project management to support the Integrated Procure-to-Pay (IPPS) business owners and campus clients of UC San Diego. As a member of the Technology & Project Management team, you will work with various technologies, including Oracle Cloud, PaymentWorks, Concur, ServiceNow, and potentially others in the future.
This position requires you to assess opportunities for better utilizing existing supply chain/procure-to-pay technology, evaluate internal and external best practices, and recommend new and more efficient methods. Design and improve business processes, manage system configuration, and maintain integrations. Additionally, act as a liaison between the business owners, campus clients, local IT, and third-party Software-as-a-Service providers. Work with IT partners and third-party providers to resolve bugs and production issues.
Your work will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the UC San Diego supply chain/procure-to-pay processes, and you will be part of a team that strives for excellence in supporting the university's faculty and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting system integration points between web applications to enterprise financial system. Ability to recognize errors or malfunctions, identify & analyze production failures and to synthesize effective solutions.
- General knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and understand complex processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information, situations, problems, policies and procedures and to formulate logical and objective conclusions from fact, situations, data and observations.
- Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
