Key responsibilities
Would you like to be a member of our Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) business and support our Investment Structuring team? Do you want to develop your alternative investments expertise?
We are looking for someone like that to focus on:
• reviewing fund documents and preparing due diligence reports
• negotiating better terms / rights for our clients and advocating for their interests
• structuring co-investments, fund-of-ones and managed accounts for our clients
• general support for investments into private funds (e.g. private credit, hedge fund, and other strategies)
The team
The Investment Structuring team sits in the broader UGA Structuring Team and focuses primarily on structuring investments with private credit, hedge fund, and other private fund managers, investor rights' due diligence and workout situations. The team is currently made up of 2 people based in New York, 1 person in Chicago, 1 person in Connecticut, 1 person in London, and 1 person in Krakow . You will report into the Co-Head of Investment Structuring and you will regularly interact with colleagues within our global platform, supporting both clients and products of our asset management and wealth management franchises. While the US-based UGA Structuring Team primarily sits in New York, we are open to considering other states for this role.
Your skills and experience
• several years of relevant experience with private fund formation (e.g. private credit, hedge fund, co-investments, etc.), as well as an ability to weigh risks and balance interests in negotiations with fund managers
• strong knowledge of private fund offering memoranda, articles of association, subscription documents, investment management agreements, limited partnership agreements, and other fund documentation
• demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and ability to meet tight deadlines
• strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, as well as very strong verbal and written communications skills
• ability to deal with changing circumstances and drive to finish short turn-around projects
• a good academic background (JD, LLB or equivalent is preferred, but not required for the right candidate)
• are familiar with fund-of-one structures, fund terms, managed accounts, and co-investment structures
• are a hard working self-starter able to manage your own workflow
• are familiar with negotiating private credit, hedge fund, and/or private equity terms (including co-investments)
• a strong interest in innovation and desire to leverage ever evolving technological tools (including AI) to create better outcomes for our clients
• you're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
Salary information
The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
• United States - New York - New York min USD 170000 - max USD 225000 /annum
