Are you a strategic thinker with deep sector expertise and a strong track record in client relationship management? UBS is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Director (Vice President) to join our leading Media & Telecom (M&T) team in New York.
As a Director (Vice President), you will play a critical role in originating, structuring, and executing complex transactions while building and maintaining trusted relationships with corporate clients, financial sponsors, and internal stakeholders. You will help drive growth across advisory and capital markets activities in the dynamic Media & Telecom sector.
Your responsibilities:
-Originate and execute M&A, equity, and debt financing transactions within the Media & Telecom sector
-Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives
-Lead deal teams through all phases of transaction execution, including financial analysis, valuation, structuring, and negotiations
-Mentor and oversee junior bankers, fostering a high-performing team environment
-Collaborate across product partners (ECM, DCM, leveraged finance, restructuring) to deliver integrated solutions
-Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic sector coverage initiatives
-Prepare and deliver client presentations, pitch materials, and internal committee documentation

You'll be part of UBS's Investment Bank, working within the Media & Telecom coverage group in New York-one of the leading platforms globally. The team partners closely across regions and product groups to deliver innovative advisory and financing solutions to a diverse client base.
Your expertise
Significant experience (typically 8-12+ years) in investment banking, with a focus on Media, Telecom, or closely related sectors
Proven track record of executing M&A and/or capital markets transactions
Strong client relationship skills with the ability to originate business independently
Deep understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and valuation methodologies
Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership experience managing deal teams and mentoring junior staff
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
