Transwestern Investment Group (TIG®), a real estate investment adviser, seeks to provide value to institutional clients through what we believe to be compelling, thematic investment opportunities across property types and risk profiles within the United States. Part of the Transwestern companies, we have sourced and executed more than $7 billion of real estate investments to date in 26 markets.

POSITION SUMMARY:

TIG is seeking an Associate to join its Capital Markets team. The Capital Markets team is responsible for fundraising, investor relations and business / product development across all TIG’s investment strategies ranging from core to value-add. This position will be given a broad range of responsibilities, which should provide valuable growth opportunities through a better understanding of the investment management business and it sponsored vehicles. This position is available due to the consistent growth that TIG is experiencing both from its discretionary investment funds, separate accounts and co-investments, resulting in a dynamic and energizing environment.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with Global Head of Capital Markets and Head of Business Development IR to create a fundraising plan for the full suite of sponsored strategies and investment products.
  • Help identify and research prospective institutional and private capital investors; maintain an investor prospect database.
  • Assist in preparing briefing memos and background research ahead of investor meetings.
  • Join meetings, take detailed notes, and support follow-up efforts, including drafting recap emails and action items.
  • Create and maintain marketing collateral inclusive of presentations, fact sheets and quarterly reports communicating the value proposition of investing with Transwestern as a fiduciary.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (asset management, investments) to ensure consistency in reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy of information.
  • Maintain the Customer Relationship Management system: keeping accurate contact information, documenting interactions and fundraise status.
  • Assist in responding to RFPs, DDQs, special projects and ad hoc data requests.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of quarterly investor letters and fund performance updates.
  • Help manage the virtual data rooms for each TIG sponsored investment offering, ensuring timely uploads of key documents and accessibility by investor prospects.
  • Assist in organizing investor webinars, annual investor meetings, and other events.
  • Assist in benchmarking fund performance against industry peers and providing competitive analysis.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • Private real estate fundraising and marketing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Juniper Square (preferred) or comparable CRM databases, Powerpoint, Excel and Word, with a strong emphasis on Powerpoint presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire others on the team to consistently meet high standards.
  • Strong attention to detail; Ability to find solutions to problems and clear hurdles.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver on short deadlines.
  • Displays a positive, can-do attitude and professional manner, exhibiting respectfulness and behavior consistent with the company’s core values. Works well in a company with a culture emphasizing a collegial, team-oriented environment.
  • Has the ability to interact and communicate effectively up, down and across the organization, strong oral and written communication skills for interaction with investors/external stakeholders.
