Full Job Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Evoke Advisors, a division of MAI Capital, is seeking an Investment Analyst with excellent quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills to join our team of Forbes- and Barron's-recognized Advisors. This is a financial, markets-focused role for someone who thrives on portfolio analysis, financial modeling, and translating data into actionable insights for Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals and families. As a member of the advisory team, you will support Advisors in portfolio construction and analysis, performance reporting, and the execution of client requests, all delivered to a standard of excellence. The ideal candidate thinks critically, learns quickly, and works with precision in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in the Century City office and requires five days per week in office.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Builds and maintains financial models and conducts portfolio analysis across a range of asset classes and account structures
  • Reviews current client allocations and drafts recommendations for Advisor review, keeping portfolios aligned with client objectives, risk tolerance, and mandates
  • Partners with Advisors and the client services team on asset allocation design and portfolio maintenance
  • Prepares client meeting materials, performance reporting, decks, and quantitative analyses to a standard of excellence
  • Prepares and maintains the underlying data supporting client performance reports
  • Builds fundamentals in the first year - financial modeling, data, deck creation, and learning how we invest and advise
  • Progresses toward an appropriate credential (see Credential Path below)

EXPERIENCE / CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (modeling, functions, data analysis); strong PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Interest in markets, investing, and wealth advisory generally. This role is a broad introduction to advising Ultra High Net Worth clients rather than a securities-research seat

CREDENTIAL PATH

Year one focuses on fundamentals. In the second and third years, Analysts begin working toward a credential aligned with their intended direction - the CFA for those moving toward research, or the CFP for those moving toward advising. Some designations carry work-experience requirements, so timing is planned individually.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong business writing and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and an all-in approach to learning
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information

FEATURED BENEFITS

Discretionary Bonus • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance • 401(k) • Health Savings Account • Paid Maternity & Parental Leave • Tuition Reimbursement
