Inventory Strategy Planner

Location | San Francisco, CA (hybrid)

About the Team:

Using data, research and expert analytical skills, our Planning & Distribution team helps ensure we have the right products in the right places at the right time. In partnership with cross-functional teams like Production, Digital Commerce, Merchandising and Retail, these wizards forecast, plan and manage our inventory-so we can continue to delight our customers with the products they love.

About the role:

The Inventory Strategy Planner serves as the internal super user for Toolio, our buy planning tool, partnering closely with Toolio's support team to drive system projects that support the Inventory Management and Allocation teams. This role is a key connector across the organization, building relationships with Tech, Merchandising, Planning & Allocation and Data Analytics teams to ensure the tool and its processes evolve alongside the business. Beyond system ownership, this role supports the Planning team with reporting and is responsible for identifying and building efficiencies within existing reports and tools. The Inventory Strategy Planner also owns the rollout of new system and process enhancements, including building tutorials and training materials that help teams adopt changes smoothly.

What you'll do:

Buy Planning System Support
  • Serve as the primary internal super user for Toolio, maintaining deep working knowledge of its functionality, configuration and capabilities
  • Partner directly with Toolio's support team to scope, prioritize and move forward system projects and enhancement requests
  • Troubleshoot system issues raised by Inventory Management and Allocation teams, applying judgment to resolve issues and escalating to Toolio support as needed
  • Stay current on Toolio product updates and evaluate their relevance and impact to internal workflows
  • Manage pre-season store clusters and tiers in Toolio; align on store minimums based on initial allocation and replenishment needs

Reporting & Efficiency
  • Support the Planning team with ongoing reporting needs, including building, maintaining and troubleshooting reports
  • Identify common issues in existing reporting and propose sustainable improvements to visibility into inventory, allocation and planning performance
  • Automate recurring or manual reporting processes where possible
  • Create tutorials, documentation and training materials for new features, reports, workflows and process changes
  • Support rollout of new system and process enhancements, including hands-on training sessions with impacted teams

Cross-Functional Relationship Building
  • Proactively build authentic relationships with Tech, Merchandising, Planning & Allocation and Data Analytics teams to understand their needs and priorities
  • Share updates and insights between business users and technical or support resources to help translate needs into system solutions
  • Bring the Inventory Management and Allocation teams' perspective to cross-functional tech projects across the brand
  • Partner closely with the Retail Merchant on setting up tiers, clusters and CC targets

You are:
  • A natural connector who proactively builds trusted, authentic relationships across Tech, Merchandising, Planning & Allocation and Data Analytics
  • Able to step back, critique your own work, and identify ways to improve existing reports, tools and processes
  • A clear communicator who knows how to share meaningful updates and insights with both business and technical partners
  • Comfortable exercising judgment on day-to-day issues, while knowing when to loop in your manager on new or unfamiliar projects
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a habit of turning what you've learned about the business into practical action

You have:
  • Experience as a super user, system administrator or power user of a planning or allocation platform (Toolio experience a strong plus)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, multi-channel retail or e-commerce environment
  • Prior experience acting as a bridge between business and technical or support teams

Our benefits:
  • Generous paid time off
  • 401k matching
  • Comprehensive health plans for you and your family
  • Supplemental mental health benefits
  • Monthly wellness reimbursement
  • Dog friendly offices
  • Employee Discount Program!

Pay range:

$82,000 - $99,000 annually

Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
