Full Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide on-site clinical services at the VA New York Harbor Health System in Brooklyn. This position is ideal for a highly skilled physician passionate about delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in a mission-driven healthcare environment serving U.S. Veterans.

The Interventional Radiologist will perform a wide range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure high-quality outcomes in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) standards and VA clinical guidelines.

Candidates must be available for on-call shifts to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures, including:

o Image-guided biopsies, drainages, and catheter placements

o Vascular access procedures and interventions

o Angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis

o Embolization procedures

o Dialysis access management

o Paracentesis, thoracentesis, and biliary interventions

o Provide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care
  • Complete consults, procedures, and medical documentation in a timely manner
  • Participate in on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Respond to urgent calls within required response times
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the VA electronic health record system
  • Collaborate with VA physicians, residents, nurses, and clinical staff
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams regarding test results and treatment plans
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to all VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and ACR practice standards

Required Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Interventional Radiology through the American Board of Radiology
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current DEA registration
  • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in interventional radiology procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process
