The ideal candidate will provide high-quality primary care services to adults. Candidates will play an instrumental role in ensuring excellent patient care, quality outcomes, and satisfaction. Responsibilities

Initially, your duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• The candidate will contribute to the highest quality standards of the clinical practice and its financial solvency.
• The candidate must maintain New York State licensure and compliance with continuing education requirements, patient care operations (charting, performing test and communicating results in a timely manner, prescription medication management, visit throughput), use of facilities, and annual goals and objectives.
• Provides acute/urgent care of emergent/acute illnesses and injuries, to include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Provide medical services to the patients of the clinic, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide quality medical care.
• See patients in a timely and efficient manner, staying reasonably on time for scheduled appointments throughout the day, unless exceptional circumstances occur.
• Diagnose and provide medical treatment
• Formulates treatment plans.
• Manages short and long-term conditions.
• Performs complete and focused physical exams.
• Provides patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit.
• Verifies and documents that the patient understands the diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations.
• Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care provider
• Documentation of Care, includes but is not limited to:
• Maintains and submits timely and appropriate medical records and billing codes
• Charting in the patient's medical record is routinely completed on the same day as the patient's visit.
• Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Practice using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards.
• Continually advise administration of any issues that may impact the practice.
• Physicians must be flexible, adapt to change, and serve as a role model for staff.

These duties, as well as location where services are provided, may be modified from time to time as the discretion of your Chair and/or Division Chief based on Departmental or Institutional needs.

A. Supports the Division, as requested, in Quality Assurance, Patient Satisfaction, Patient Safety and other initiatives

B. Participates in regularly scheduled learning and professional community activities of Division and Department:

Division of General Internal Medicine Conferences

• Weekly (during regular academic year) MSSLW Department of Medicine Grand Rounds
• Attend Medical Board Meeting at least twice a year
• Divisional Quality Assurance Projects

C. Will provide teaching and supervision to interns, residents and students caring for patients in the MSMS-W DOM Internal Medicine

Residency Program continuity clinics housed in the William F. Ryan Community Health Network (Ryan Health) for (5) five-hour sessions weekly.

• Provides appropriate and regular feedback, both written and verbal, to trainees with respect to the ACGME six core competencies.
• Participates in the Internal Medicine Residency Program Residency Review Committee (RRC) meetings.
• Provides mentorship to trainees.

D. Fulfills the obligations of Program Site Director for Ryan Health at West 97th Street executing various tasks and responsibilities associated with overseeing and managing the site for the MSM-W DOM Residency Program.

E. Collaborates with other staff in educational activities.

F. Other duties as assigned and consistent with core professional skills, training and attributes.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Some experience preferred; new trainees are welcome to apply
• Committed to Mount Sinai and the diverse communities we serve
• Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System

Compensation range from 225K to 245K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
