Full Job Description
Our team in Canada is growing! We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals Business line in the Vancouver office.

About the Role
  • Support the Lead Structural Engineer in various phases of a project with a focus on early stage Studies
  • Prepare specifications, design criteria, and material take-off for various phases of studies and projects as required.
  • Perform analysis and design of steel, concrete, and masonry structures and concrete foundations for mining process plants or infrastructure projects.
  • Perform site visits, inspections, and preparation of reports relating to existing and new structures
  • Perform evaluation and analysis of existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions
  • Prepare structural engineering designs for conceptual design through to detailed design, tender and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards
  • Complete tasks under minimal supervision ensuring that objectives of cost, quality and time are met
  • Work directly with drafting staff in order to coordinate and review 3D modelling and design of the structures, as well as produce detailed drawing packages

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized University.
  • 5-9 years' experience in a structural design environment preferably with experience in mining and process plant design projects.
  • Proficient in structural engineering analysis and design with SAP2000 is a must; proficiency in other software such as, SFRAME, SAFE, and ETABS would be an asset.
  • Thorough understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC. Registration within another Province or internationally (PE) would be considered an asset
  • Proficient in application of Canadian Codes and Standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English

Salary range: $105,000-$125,000

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
