Senior Technical Advisor (Workload Shaping)

Bottom Line Up Front: Serve as the principal Technical Expert within the Workload Shaping Branch. In this key advisory role, you will act as the critical bridge between technology and business operations, shaping workload assignments, portfolio analysis, and depot activation for the Department of the Air Force's most vital software systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain a Top Secret security clearance

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

- A professional degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or bachelor's in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is required.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- Subject to recall during non-duty hours, weekends, and holidays to complete proposals and/or resolve software problems

- This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Mastery-level professional knowledge of electronics engineering and computer science concepts, theories, principles, and practices and working knowledge of other disciplines, such as aerospace, industrial, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering; of a broad range of engineering standards, precedents, methods, and techniques to ensure work in compliance with regulations and standards; and the applicability of such knowledge to the full range of duties concerned with design, production, and maintenance of Operational Flight Programs, Automated Test Systems, Test Program Set Software, and other systems used to support the warfighter and weapons systems program offices.

2. Expert knowledge of policies, programs, organizations, functions, resources, and legislation affecting the program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users.

3. Knowledge of FAA, ISO, IEEE, and MIL standards for applicable software area and process improvement methods including CMMI, Lean, and Six Sigma.

4. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.

5. Knowledge of safety, security and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

6. Skilled at presenting complex information and educating others to support collaboration and teamwork.

7. Ability to apply both academic and learned concepts and methods to solve complex problems as well as conceive new ideas and methodologies for approaching problems to improve project, program and organizational performance.

8. Ability to lead, motivate, educate, cultivate and optimize a technical workforce to achieve maximum results as it applies to real and virtual project teams.

9. Ability to work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
