Information System Security Officer (ISSO) - Temporary
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Information System Security Officer (ISSO), GS-221012, located at the 805th Combat Training Squadron, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV.
This is a Temporary position Not to Exceed Nov 2027; the individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition. Current Federal civilian employees may apply for this position and if selected, a break in service of at least 3 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position.
Salary Rate: $91,000 - 103,000
Depending on the type of position you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

In this position, you will serve as senior information technology (IT) specialist and consultant to management in support of IT policy and plans. Manages all aspects of the 805th Combat Training Sq cybersecurity program across multiple platforms and classification levels to include exploitation, integration and advancement of C2 and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4I) systems and processes.
U.S. Citizenship
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance

This is a drug testing designated position
This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement; therefore having a knowledge of DoD 8570 01-M, and other IA policies and laws is required.
Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, and method
Knowledge of the organization's policy and planning formulation process along with its missions and objectives to prepare IT polices and plans
Knowledge of budgetary processes, cost-benefit analysis methods, and analysis of performance data to prepare persuasive budget recommendations in support of IT requirements
Knowledge of a full range of IT security requirements for certification and accreditation; network operations and protocols; systems testing and evaluation; to monitor and evaluate systems compliance with IT security requirements; provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems; to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks; and to recommend new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
Desired Experience: Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), OSCAL, Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, Xacta, DoD IAM Level II or higher baseline certification (CAP, GSLC, CISM, CISSP)
