Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Integration Engineer with strong experience in integrating, testing, and supporting mainframe and non-mainframe payroll systems. The role focuses on ensuring seamless interoperability across platforms while developing, maintaining, and supporting payroll applications using core mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise combined with strong system integration and testing capabilities in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and support integration solutions between mainframe payroll systems and distributed/non-mainframe platforms.
• Ensure end-to-end system interoperability, data consistency, and reliability across integrated environments.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain payroll system components using mainframe technologies.
• Perform system, integration, and regression testing to validate payroll processing accuracy and cross-platform data flows.
• Create and maintain batch and online payroll programs using COBOL, Assembler, and Easytrieve.
• Build and support CICS online transactions, including screen/map development using CICS Maps / CA-TELON.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain JCL for automated payroll batch jobs and interfaces.
• Design and maintain payroll data access using DB2, ensuring performance and data integrity.
• Schedule and manage payroll jobs using CA Scheduler (or equivalent scheduling tools).
• Integrate payroll reporting and archival solutions using Rocket Software Mobius.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, data mismatches, and production incidents across platforms.
• Collaborate with application developers, QA teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support payroll releases and enhancements.
• Support payroll cut-off cycles, production deployments, and post-implementation validation.

Required Skills:
• Strong experience in system integration engineering, including interface design, testing, and validation.
• Hands-on expertise with Mainframe technologies, including but not limited to:

-COBOL

-Assembler

-Easytrieve

-CICS and CICS Maps (BMS / CICS Map / CA-TELON)

-JCL

-DB2

-CA Scheduler (or equivalent)

-Rocket Software Mobius
• Experience integrating mainframe applications with non-mainframe platforms (e.g., distributed systems, middleware, or enterprise applications).
• Strong understanding of payroll processing workflows, data exchanges, and downstream/upstream system dependencies.
• Knowledge of mainframe file structures, VSAM, data transformation, and batch/online integration patterns.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government payroll systems.
• Familiarity with middleware, messaging, file transfer, or API-based integration mechanisms.
• Experience with production support, payroll parallel runs, and compliance-driven testing.
• Exposure to legacy system modernization or system migration initiatives.
