Integration and Sustain Engineering Team Manager - PCE (Houston, TX)

This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

The Cloud Developer builds from the ground up to meet the needs of mission-critical applications and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems. Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions.

Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements. The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.

Management Level Definition:

Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages activities of exempt individual contributors (typically Expert/Master) and/or MG1s. Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Position typically reports to Director or above.

Additional Guidance/Criteria: Manages and controls activities within a sub-region or Region; Typically manages 10 or more direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

What You'll Do:

• Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a large team, including managers and senior technologists designing, developing, and sustaining products, enhancements, and updates.
• Defines project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Coordinates cross-functional teams, manages project risks, and ensures successful project delivery while adhering to quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
• Stays abreast of the latest cloud technologies, algorithms, and methodologies advancements.
• Provides technical leadership and guidance to the team and promotes innovation.
• Collaborates closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, business leaders, and domain experts, to understand their needs and translate them into solutions. Communicates effectively and regularly updates project progress, outcomes, and strategic insights.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex production issues across applications, APIs, cloud services, integrations, data pipelines, and factory systems.
• Perform root-cause analysis and drive permanent fixes that improve reliability at scale.
• Design, build, and support integrations between factory environments, cloud platforms, internal systems, and third-party applications.
• Develop automation that reduces manual effort across onboarding, diagnostics, deployments, monitoring, and support.
• Leverage AI and LLM technologies to improve troubleshooting, incident response, knowledge management, and operational efficiency.
• Partner across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Product, and Customer Success to solve high-impact business problems.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related area of study or Advanced Degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is strongly preferred.
• Typically, 10+ years' experience in Engineering Management
• 5+ years of People Management experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong expertise in developing and implementing cloud solutions across various domains and industries.
• Extensive experience managing and leading large teams, driving innovation, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance work culture.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify business opportunities, formulate strategies, and execute projects effectively.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Manufacturing, factory, IoT, edge, or operational technology experience.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Familiarity with MQTT, OPC UA, SCADA, MES, PLCs, or similar technologies.
• Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with AI, LLMs, agents, RAG, vector databases, or AI-powered engineering tools.
