Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer - Nuclear to join our team in the United States.

You will be part of our nuclear group, where we ensure world class project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare and support execution of engineering work packages to ensure project budgets and schedules are met.
• Define I&C project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedule.
• Develop I&C deliverables such as lists, calculations, and detailed drawings, including:
o Instrumentation and Controls Design Criteria
o Control philosophy and conceptual design of industrial control systems
o Control narratives
o Instrument index and I/O lists
o Instrumentation calculations, data sheets, specifications, selection, and sizing
o P&IDs
o System architecture drawings
o Instrument location drawings and installation detail drawings
o Wiring and interconnection diagrams
o ISA loop drawings
o Motor control schematics
• Mentor junior and intermediate staff.
• Participate in HAZOP, COMS, and other safety related reviews, as required.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines.
• Actively manage relationships with vendors.
• Support Hatch business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including the preparation of proposals and pursuit plans for the nuclear industry.
You bring to the role:
• B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of project experience in the design of instrumentation and control systems in nuclear and/or thermal power plants.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to clients, regulators, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to function with minimal supervision.
• Sound understanding of applicable engineering codes and standards, including IEEE, ISA, and IEC.
• Experience with construction and commissioning activities.
• Experience working in pressurized water reactor (PWR) and boiling water reactor (BWR) plants.
• Experience working with advanced Generation IV reactors (HTGRs, sodium-cooled reactors, molten salt reactors, etc.) is desirable.
• Experience working within a nuclear quality management system (ASME NQA-1).
• Eligibility to work on export-controlled projects subject to 10 CFR 810.
• Ability to travel for short-term business trips, domestically and internationally.
