Instructor of Development

Job Duties: Deliver classroom instruction. Teach courses on infant, child, and adolescent development. Serve as a fieldwork advisor in our teacher certification programs. Teach a course load centered on human development across the lifespan, with a focus on inclusive and diverse educational settings. Deliver specialized instruction in observational methodology. Provide sustained, year-long mentorship to both student-teachers and in-service educators pursuing certification, guiding their pedagogical development through regular on-site evaluations and detailed instructional feedback. Assess high-stakes performance tasks and teacher preparation assessments. Supervise graduate students completing their Integrative Master's Projects, offering intensive academic advising and scholarly mentorship. Develop course syllabi for the Teaching and Learning program redesign. Lead professional development workshops for public school educators across New York City. Review and edit academic content intended for publication. Teach graduate-level instruction in higher education setting. Assess teacher performance tasks and instructional evaluations. Supervise graduate-level teachers and pre-service educators. Mentor graduate students, including providing master's-level research guidance and academic advising. Requirements: Master's Degree inCurriculum Studies in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a closely related education field and five (5) years of experience as a classroom instructor or related position. Must have experience teaching graduate-level courses in higher education settings; assessing teacher performance tasks and instructional evaluations; supervising graduate-level teachers and pre-service educators; mentoring graduate students, including providing master's-level research guidance and academic advising; delivering programs focused on workforce development and family support services; applying developmental theory and child assessment methods, including observation, documentation, and portfolio evaluation; implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies in instructional settings; and delivering classroom instruction Must also have a demonstrated record of academic scholarship.

Salary: $102,586 -$112,586 per year
