Position Description & Qualifications

Looking for an opportunity to lead instructional design and courseware development for a mission-focused learning platform that supports more than 2.5 million users? Discover this opportunity supporting Joint Knowledge Online in Suffolk, VA, where you will bring your planning, coordination, and customer engagement skills to help Serco deliver high-quality training solutions for the Joint Staff and broader defense community. In this role, you will serve as a key link between the government customer, internal teams, external partners, and courseware development teams to keep work aligned, on track, and responsive to task order requirements.

This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active Department of War Secret security clearance.

In this role, you will:
  • Scheduling and tracking of planned production; and reporting of said progress to government and contractor leadership.
  • Employee will serve as the Content Development Lead in the supervision of both internal and external content development teams per the requirements of the JKO task order. Will work directly with the government Knowledge Services Chief.
  • Must assist the Knowledge Services Chief with the tracking of all projects in the development phase, as required and have the ability to plan work and to track progress via project management tools.
  • Must understand the limits of the statement of work and how to apply them to the work of their team. Their team will consist of the internal courseware developers (Instructional System Designers, Graphic Artists, and Video Production) as well as several external teams around the country.
  • Must be able to schedule and assign work to all participants, monitor progress, and deliver quality products on or ahead of schedule.
  • Manage via task oriented terms, and must be able to handle multiple projects at all IMI Levels, including desktop and Virtual Classroom (VCLASS).

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active Department of War Secret security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Multi-media Design or Instructional Design or a related field.
  • 8+ years experience in the field is a must, with JKO experience and System Administration level access to JKO tool suites a plus.
  • The ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Suffolk, VA.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • An active Department of War Secret Security clearance.
  • A Master's degree
