  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine acceptance or rejection and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of acceptance and rejection decisions.
  • Investigate root causes of nonconformances and quality issues, performing inspections as required.
  • Achieve and maintain full Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) status to independently release products on behalf of customers.

Full Job Description
Position Summary:

With minimum guidance and using independent judgement to determine quality and usability, the Inspector Technician / CMM Programmer is responsible for advanced dimensional inspection and CMM programming. This advanced technical role serves as the primary CMM programming resource, mentors junior team members, and maintains full Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) certification for key customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, validate, run, and maintain CMM inspection programs using Zeiss Calypso.
  • Perform complex inspection of critical machined parts, castings, forgings, and assemblies using a wide variety of precision measuring and test equipment. Develop advanced set-ups (using blocks, parallels, clamps, sine plates, and V-blocks) to support those inspections as needed.
  • Perform complex First Article Inspections (FAI) and envelope inspections.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to arrive at acceptance or rejection and recommend paths forward to management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records.
  • Investigate the root cause of nonconformances, customer returns, and quality escapes. Perform inspections to applicable specifications within assembly, test, and shipping departments.
  • Achieve and maintain full DQR status for applicable customers; independently perform delegated inspection and product release on behalf of those customers.
  • Support special process witness and sign-off requirements; assist with customer/government source inspection.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of related aerospace inspection experience, with dedicated experience in CMM operations and programming.
  • Proven experience programming Zeiss Calypso. Experience with PC-DMIS is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5; AS9100; AS9102; customer, industry, and military standards and specifications; and shop mathematics (including trigonometry).
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings and electronic/hydraulic schematics; knowledge of electro-hydraulic servo systems is a plus.
  • Experience utilizing quality and MES systems such as Net-Inspect and Solumina.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to mentor others and work effectively across teams.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Competitive Compensation
  • Pay Range: $31.1/hr to $46.7/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
