As the Insights Manager, Oncology, you will be the candid voice of the customer across a dynamic portfolio-patients and caregivers, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare stakeholders. You will navigate an evolving treatment landscape and bring clarity to complex questions, translating signals into sharp recommendations that steer strategy, launch readiness, and execution. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with cross-functional brand teams, regional and global partners, and research agencies to ensure insights are timely, relevant, and activated. In a fast-moving pipeline environment, your ability to anticipate the next question-before it is asked-will help teams move with confidence and pace. Accountabilities: • Insight Generation Across the Brand Lifecycle: Proactively identify emerging opportunities, risks, unmet needs, and shifts in customer behavior to inform brand strategy and tactical planning across indications. • Strategic Research Planning: Design and manage integrated qualitative and quantitative research programs that illuminate market dynamics, treatment pathways, patient journeys, brand positioning, competitive moves, and stakeholder needs. • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Activation: Partner with marketing, medical, access, sales, and analytics to connect insight to action, ensuring research translates into clear priorities and measurable impact. • Therapeutic Area Capability Building: Elevate oncology knowledge across teams through coaching, mentorship, and the sharing of market, customer, and competitive intelligence. • Partnership with Global and Regional Teams: Shape broader research plans by injecting local perspectives into study design, methodologies, and recommendations, ensuring relevance for Canada. • External Research Leadership: Collaborate with agencies to design and deliver robust qualitative and quantitative studies aligned to the strategic research plan. • Insight Dissemination and Activation: Turn complex findings into clear implications and recommendations that influence brand strategy, customer engagement, resource allocation, and execution priorities. • Ongoing Brand Insights and Performance Assessment: Maintain a regular cadence of insights, assessing business drivers, performance against KPIs, market developments, and customer needs to identify risks and opportunities. • Ad Hoc Analyses: Combine primary and secondary data sources to rapidly generate insights that answer urgent business questions. • Portfolio Strategy and Launch Readiness: Leverage global and regional insights, validate applicability for Canada, and proactively address future insight needs to de-risk launches. • Project and Budget Management: Plan, track, and deliver research programs on time, within budget, and to quality standards. • Safety Reporting: Collect and report Adverse Events in line with AstraZeneca policies and procedures. Essential Skills/Experience: • Education: An undergraduate degree in business, science, health sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience applying qualitative and quantitative primary market research methodologies, ideally within oncology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare. • Oncology expertise: A strong understanding of oncology, relevant disease areas, treatment modalities, standards of care, emerging therapies, clinical practice, and the evolving treatment landscape. • Curiosity and critical thinking: A naturally curious mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to explore beyond the obvious, identify patterns, and uncover insights that address both stated and unstated business needs. • Strategic impact: A track record of translating research and data into actionable recommendations that influence brand strategy and business decisions. • Collaboration and influence: Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, bring diverse stakeholders together, and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority. • Project management: Excellent project management, organizational, budget-management, and prioritization skills. • Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively to senior audiences. • Data and AI capabilities: Confidence working with data, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled tools to identify patterns, enhance research approaches, generate hypotheses, and support evidence-based decision-making. The ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs, apply appropriate judgment, and translate findings into meaningful business recommendations is essential. • Adaptability and innovation: Energized by ambiguity and complexity, with a willingness to explore innovative approaches to research and insight generation Desirable Skills/Experience: • Experience with the Canadian oncology landscape, including clinical guidelines, reimbursement, and regional variations in care. • Advanced proficiency with analytics and visualization tools and the ability to build dashboards that inform brand performance and decision-making. • Formal training or certification in market research methods, statistics, behavioral science, or health economics. • Experience translating insights into omnichannel engagement strategies and launch plans.
