Job DescriptionInnovation Manager SUMMARY Provide leadership in vision, strategy, and thinking methodologies used to innovate new products and services, introduce novel or disruptive ideas, improve existing processes, and create a culture of innovation within Mortenson. Lead innovation projects using skills and experience in construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead Company R&D efforts to include rapid prototyping, product development, industrialization, development of new tools and equipment.
- Partner with key operating groups in developing specific capabilities and collaborate with operating groups to track KPIS
- Partner with outside entities to advance improvements within the construction industry and Mortenson's business
- Support operating groups in developing business plans related to innovation
- Create an innovative culture that differentiates Mortenson in delivering value to our customers
- Establish and manage the innovation center as the HUB for Mortenson's transformational innovation
- Work with group leaders to run group level innovation challenges to crowd source innovation that solves problem
- Design and model solutions for customer innovation and experience along with similar initiatives variants
- Expand Innovation's group reach through the development of the Innovation HUB
- Build strategic relationship with established companies, start-ups, and academic institutions to accelerate innovation in the AEC industry
- Monitors new/alternative technological trends and developments and utilizes resources and tools to implement changes that will strengthen the organization as an industry leader
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
QUALIFICATIONS - Strategic Planning - Thorough knowledge of research and analysis methods and techniques; thorough knowledge of statistical analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Technology - Knowledge of general office equipment and personal computers to include word processing, spreadsheet and related software. Comprehensive knowledge of office systems, practices, procedures, and administration.
- Data Analytics - Knowledge of organization and operations analysis techniques in order to study complex business issues, perform analysis between multiple datasets, conduct predictive analysis, and convey results to management.
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel up to %
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related EAC industry degree
- Minimum of 6 years related AEC industry or construction experience

The base pay range for this role is $121,900 - $182,900(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
