Join our Innovation Team as a Innovation Manager, Applied AI in one of our various U.S. office locations.

Position Summary:

The Innovation Manager, Applied AI plays a key role in advancing the firm's use of generative AI and emerging legal technologies to improve how legal work is delivered. Working closely with attorneys, innovation leadership, and business professionals, this role focuses on driving adoption, improving workflows, and ensuring that AI-enabled tools are meaningfully integrated into daily legal practice.

The Innovation Manager, Applied AI serves as a practical bridge between legal practice and technology, drawing on legal training and hands-on experience to engage attorneys, ask thoughtful questions, and identify barriers to adoption. Through close collaboration with practice groups and innovation stakeholders, this role develops tailored strategies that build credibility, drive engagement, and support the effective use of AI-enabled tools across the firm. The position emphasizes clear communication, pragmatic problem-solving, and direct interaction with attorneys through group sessions, targeted workshops, and one-on-one support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partners with attorneys, practice groups, and innovation stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities for applying generative AI and legal technology within existing workflows
  • Supports the design, rollout, and scaling of practice-specific, AI-enabled workflows that align with attorney needs and firm priorities
  • Engages directly with attorneys to understand adoption challenges, gather feedback, and recommends practical solutions that reduce friction and increase utilization
  • Designs and supports onboarding, training, and enablement programs, including presentations, workshops, demos, and written materials that showcase real-world AI use cases
  • Serves as a day-to-day point of contact between attorneys and the Innovation Department on matters related to legal technology and service delivery
  • Monitors usage trends and engagement signals to identify opportunities for additional training, reinforcement, or expanded use of AI tools
  • Contributes to knowledge management initiatives by helping make legal know-how more accessible and scalable through responsible AI use
  • Translates attorney feedback into actionable insights for Innovation leadership to inform tool enhancements, prioritization, and strategic planning
  • Supports pilots of new AI tools and workflows, assisting with coordination, documentation, and outcome assessment
  • Acts as a change champion by reinforcing best practices, coaching attorneys through transitions, and helping embed new tools into daily routines
  • Assists with Innovation Department initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned

Education & Prior Experience
  • Advanced graduate degree required; JD preferred
  • Relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment preferred
  • Approximately 3+ years of professional experience, ideally involving legal practice support, innovation, knowledge management, or client-facing roles
  • Experience supporting attorneys, clients, or internal stakeholders through change, training, or process improvement initiatives


Technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfort using collaboration, knowledge management, and workflow tools (e.g., SharePoint, HighQ, or similar platforms)
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively use new legal technology and AI-enabled tools
  • Familiarity with automation or reporting tools is a plus but not required
