This position may be worked remotely from any Jack Henry office or anywhere within the United States, with the exception of California. Travel up to 5% for team meetings may be required.

What you'll be responsible for:
• Plan, design, and build the core infrastructure systems used by Jack Henry's development and engineering teams.
• Debug critical production infrastructure issues that may impact multiple sites and services, digging deep to find root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Focus on site state and health with the discipline that allows us to easily and automatically move workloads to avoid failure.
• Use your software development expertise (Go, Python, etc.) to build and enhance platform solutions that improve developer velocity and enable our customers to ship features faster.
• Act as a proactive collaborator and emerging leader, championing software engineering best practices and helping guide other engineers in areas like design and coding standards.
• Work directly with engineering teams to understand their priorities and emerging needs to prioritize solutions that keep pace with product development.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges and drive them to completion
• May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you'll need to have:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing containerized applications.
• Practical experience in declarative service infrastructure environments, specifically using Terraform.
• Experience in an AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud environment.
• Programming experience in Go, Python, or Rust.
• Experience designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry)
• Familiarity operating in a Unix/Linux shell.
What would be nice for you to have:
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency building and scaling custom Kubernetes controllers and operators.
• Experience managing production environments in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Service Mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
• Experience with implementing and scaling relational databases, in-memory data structure stores, and streaming data pipelines (e.g., AlloyDB, Memorystore, Pub/Sub).
• Familiarity with the left side of the Agile manifesto and operating within various methods of implementation.
