Summary

Located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Executive Office, Office of Information Technology, Eneterprise Data Analystics (OIG/EX/IT/EDA). Serves as senior technical expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, and data science. Focuses on providing expert level technical leadership, research, design, and implementation of AI and data-driven solutions to advance OIG programs, oversight activities, and mission outcomes.

Duties

Help

• Leads development, evaluation, and implementation of AI/ML models to enhance OIG oversight capabilities, including anomaly detection, risk scoring, predictive analytics, and automation of audit, evaluation, and investigative workflows.
• Designs and implements advanced statistical analyses, machine learning pipelines, and data models to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Serves as a senior technical advisor to OIG leadership on AI, automation, cloud computing, modern IT architectures, and digital innovation trends.
• Recommends standards for AI model lifecycle management, data engineering practices, and technology modernization.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.

Applicants applying for the GS-15 grade level must meet the following requirements:Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:

1. Attention to Detail - The incumbent is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.
2. Customer Service - The incumbent works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information and assistance by resolving their problems and satisfying their expectations and knows about available products and services while providing excellent customer service.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Makes clear and convincing oral presentations and listens to others input. Attends to nonverbal cues and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies and analyzes problems, weighs relevance and accuracy of information, generates and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.

AND Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
• Experience advising senior leadership on integrating emerging technology solutions, enterprise architectures, and cybersecurity alignment.
• Experience designing and implementing complex AI/ML models, enterprise-scale data solutions, and analytical capabilities.
• Experience applying Federal IT requirements, including NIST standards, FISMA, OMB policy, Agile/DevSecOps frameworks, and data governance principles.
• Experience resolving complex technical challenges involving unstructured problems and evolving technologies.

NOTE: In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-15 position.
