Summary:
The Infection Prevention Specialist I role is responsible for monitoring and responding to Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) and communicable infections by conducting surveillance, tracking cases, ensuring adequate isolation precautions, investigating suspected outbreaks, and helping develop and implement action plans to prevent and control infections.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent training in a health related field (Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, and Epidemiology).
- License/Certifications: Current certification by the Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) preferred.
- Experience: Two to five years of experience in a health related field required.

This is an onsite opportunity with some travel between MaineHealth entities.
Additional Information The pay range for this position is $71,448.00 to $96,636.80 per year.
Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
