We9re looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our Production team based in in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Maintenance manager.

Job Overview: The Industrial Electrician will be a key member of our maintenance team, responsible for the expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all industrial machinery and electrical systems.

This role is crucial for ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of our production lines. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can also provide general mechanical and operational support to maintain the facility9s overall efficiency and safety.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Perform skilled electrical maintenance, repair, installation, and rebuilding of all production equipment and facility assets in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and industry standards.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to perform effective troubleshooting.
  • Install and commission new machinery, ensuring all electrical services meet code and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and labour hours, utilizing our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assist in managing the inventory of spare parts, including sourcing, and organization, under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all Quality Management System (QMS) protocols, including required documentation and quality checks.
  • Uphold all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and accident prevention programs. Proactively identify and report potential hazards to ensure a safe work environment.

You will be a good fit if you have:
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex electrical systems, including AC/DC motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo motors, and servo drives.
  • Solid understanding of PLCs and HMI devices for troubleshooting purposes
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting process controls, including temperature controllers, timers, relays, and contactors.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of hand tools, multimeters, and other diagnostic testing equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial wiring methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to generate clear and legible reports.

It is an asset if you have:
  • Red seal Interprovincial journeyman certification.
  • Experience in the food and beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with the assembly, installation, and repair of mechanical components.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software and general computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively and safely in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
