POSITION SUMMARY:The Indirect Tax Manager will be an integral part of the global tax team located in Denver, Colorado and will report to the VP of Global Tax. This position will lead daily indirect tax operations and manage internal staff and external service providers. Additionally, this role will involve assisting with tax audits, supporting tax controversies, and contributing to various projects as needed to meet the requirements of business partners and the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead day-to-day indirect tax compliance operations and filings for U.S. jurisdictions.
- Manage internal staff and external service providers on sales & use tax, property tax, excise tax, business licenses, registrations, audits, and notices to ensure timely and accurate reporting and remittance.
- Partner with leadership to evaluate tax implications of new initiatives.
- Identify and recommend process improvements for scalability and efficiency.
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Lead audits and manage relationships with tax authorities.
- Oversee tax system configuration and taxability mapping.
- Drive tax transformation strategy by identifying automation, data quality, and process improvement opportunities.
- Advise and support implementation of tax technology (tax engines, certificate tools, workflow tools, dashboards).
- Lead, coach, and develop indirect tax team members.
- Manage external advisors and tax technology providers.
- Partner cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and business leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience with ERP systems or tax engines
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles for indirect tax matters
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills
EXPERIENCE:- 8+ years indirect tax experience with public accounting and/or multinational corporations
EDUCATION:- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business
COMPENSATION: As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 to $170,000 per year.
