Job Description:Business Banking - Indigenous Banking Group
The Indigenous Banking Group (IBG) is TD's specialized financial services team within Business Banking that supports Indigenous Peoples, businesses, organizations and communities through long-term relationships, tailored financial solutions, and a One TD approach. As an IBG Associate, you'll support Regional Managers and internal partners by coordinating client activities, preparing materials, tracking opportunities, and helping deliver a consistent, respectful client experience.
Job Description
- This is an exciting introductory experience in the interesting, vital and specialized area of Commercial Banking.
- You will further learn and expand the fundamentals of commercial lending through financial analysis, risk management and industry analysis. This will give you the ability to work closely with a variety of Indigenous organizations, mid-market businesses, Communities and Peoples as they strive to successfully meet their respective financial goals. Your skills will be put to the test in creating financial services proposals based on the diverse credit, deposits and cash management needs of your clients.
Accountabilities
- Support IBG Regional Manager(s) with day-to-day portfolio, prospect, and pipeline activities (e.g., meeting coordination, follow-ups, and opportunity tracking in CRM/BB Hub).
- Prepare client and community meeting materials (agendas, briefing notes, call plans, pitch decks, and term sheet drafts) in partnership with deal teams and credit partners.
- Coordinate internal partner engagement to deliver One TD solutions (e.g., CPB, Wealth/Indigenous Trust Services, TD Equipment Financing, TD Securities, ESG/Ready Commitment, and others as applicable).
- Assist with onboarding and servicing activities, including documentation collection, account opening support (where applicable), and issue triage/escalation.
- Support credit processes by gathering information, validating completeness, and coordinating with Commercial Credit Risk Management (CCRM) and other adjudication partners.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, documentation quality, and compliance; identify and escalate operational, reputational, and regulatory risks as required.
- Contribute to community presence and relationship-building activities (e.g., events, conferences, and in-community days) through logistics support and post-event follow-up.
- Participate in continuous learning (cultural competency, Indigenous banking foundations, products/solutions, and relationship methodology) and apply learnings to improve client experience.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in financial services, business banking, commercial lending support, or relationship management support (asset).
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear, client-ready materials.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail (e.g., information gathering, documentation, and data quality in CRM systems).
- Demonstrated commitment to learning and applying Indigenous cultural competency and relationship best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort learning internal systems (e.g., CRM/BB Hub).
- Ability to travel within the region as required to support community engagement and client meetings (including occasional overnight travel).
