Full Job Description

At McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corporation business, we have led the waste and recycling industry for decades with high-performance refuse collection vehicles. Today, we are helping lead our customers into the future with purpose-built, zero-emission electric collection trucks (such as our McNeilus Volterra™ ZEV platforms). As an Incentive and Grant Program Specialist you will help our customers maximize substantial government funding opportunitiesand will be the operational linchpin guiding our fleet customers through state and regional clean vehicle incentive programs. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with experience managing complex documentation, compliance requirements, and time-sensitive financial or transactional processes. The ideal candidate may come from a background in commercial lending or mortgage processing, insurance claims, equipment leasing or commercial finance, escrow and title services, or contract and public grant administration.

  • Fleet Eligibility Review & Guideline Interpretation
    • Review and interpret state and regional clean fuel and commercial fleet incentive guidelines, funding criteria, and program timelines (full program training provided).
    • Evaluate fleet customer profiles, operational locations, and vehicle orders to confirm program qualification prior to order commitment.
    • Review fleet applicant onboarding documentation (business filings, municipal procurement resolutions, utility assessments, and vehicle registration records) to ensure complete alignment and zero discrepancies.
  • Application Packaging & Submission Pipeline Management
    • Prepare and submit incentive and voucher reservation packages directly into state and third-party administrator portals.
    • Manage and monitor active application pipelines, ensuring project milestones, truck build schedules, and delivery targets stay well ahead of program expiration deadlines.
    • Partner directly with McNeilus sales directors, authorized dealers, and fleet customer procurement/operations managers, firmly and professionally guiding document collection.
  • Delivery Verification, Redemption & Disbursement Closeout
    • Coordinate with McNeilus manufacturing, logistics, and field delivery teams to secure audit-ready Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation, customer acceptance sign-offs, and final sales contracts upon vehicle handover.
    • Assemble and submit complete redemption packages to public administrators to trigger final incentive disbursements.
    • Partner with internal finance and accounting teams to reconcile approved, pending, and received incentive funds, ensuring credits are accurately applied against customer invoices.
  • Administrator Liaison & Audit Readiness
    • Serve as the professional liaison between McNeilus, our fleet customers, our dealer network, and external program administrators.
    • Maintain complete, audit-ready digital transaction binders for every vehicle and fleet client to satisfy routine desk audits or compliance reviews.
    • Monitor program funding updates, portal application cycles, and policy changes, briefing commercial leadership on timeline shifts.
  • Fleet Customer Experience & Process Optimization
    • Provide commercial and municipal fleet customers with a seamless, "white-glove" experience that de-mystifies public incentive programs while keeping documentation requirements clear, firm, and timely.
    • Continuously refine internal file checklists, status trackers and customer onboarding kits to increase pipeline velocity as adoption expands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with three (3) or more years of applicable experience. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coordinating complex transactions across customers, internal teams, financial institutions, government entities, vendors, or other external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret policies, procedures, contracts, or regulatory requirements and apply them accurately to individual transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, resolve documentation gaps, and independently drive items through completion.
  • Managing approval, funding, or closing conditions while working within strict deadlines and established compliance requirements.

  • This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature-controlled settings.

Pay Range:

$64,500.00 - $103,500.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
