  • Design, execution, and analysis of microneurography studies to characterize the biological activities of targets and mechanism(s) of action in pain circuitry.
  • Characterization of compound pharmacology using microneurography
  • Development and implementation of novel in vivo electrophysiology protocols
  • Critical analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Preparation and presentation of research results in both oral and written formats.
  • Management of project timelines and deliverables.
  • Support of scientific decision making and pipeline advancement

Required qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree with relevant scientific experience
  • Expertise in practical electrophysiology (e.g. whole-cell patch clamp, two-electrode Xenopus oocyte voltage-clamp, microneurography, etc.)
  • Experience performing surgery in anesthetized animals

Preferred experience and skills:
  • D. in physiology, biophysics, neuroscience, pharmacology, or related disciplines.
  • Familiarity with basic coding/programming
  • Extensive knowledge of ion channel biology and electrophysiology as evidenced by an outstanding publication record.
  • Proficiency in data acquisition, documentation, and data analysis.
