Coordinate assessment, evaluation and quality improvement all of medication-related activities in the Retail Pharmacy Directs all purchasing and inventory control activities for all products distributed through the Retail Pharmacy.
Job SummaryAs a
Pharmacy Manager for
Retail Pharmacy, you will assume primary responsibility for the operation of the Ingalls Retail Pharmacy. As pharmacist-in-charge, the Retail Pharmacy Manager has ultimate responsibility for the pharmacy's compliance with federal and state laws and guidelines. Manager has direct responsibility for controlled substance purchasing, dispensing and loss prevention.
Essential Job Functions- Manages all patient care and administrative activities of the Ingalls Retail Pharmacy.
- Monitors and maintains high levels of customer service.
- Develops programs to monitor, report and maintain accuracy of dispensed medications.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain procedures and systems for ordering and purchasing of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, ensuring proper medication handling and storage.
- Hire, train and utilize pharmacy support personnel with the forward-looking goals and objectives of the Retail Pharmacy in mind.
- Manage the delegation of all appropriate functions to technical staff to maximize pharmacist focus and accuracy.
- Develops quality assurance guidelines, customer service assessments and educational programs within the Retail Pharmacy.
- Oversee the meds to beds program to support discharge of patients medications to reduce readmission rates and length of stays.
Required Qualifications - Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
- Doctor of Pharmacy or another advanced degree preferred
- Registered pharmacist in the State of Illinois or eligible
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a pharmacist in retail pharmacy practice
- Minimum 2 years in retail pharmacy management experience highly preferred
- Prior experience with investigation drug programs highly preferred
- Exception aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience

In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work a full time rotating shift. Shift times will rotate weekly and you will not be on-call. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Harvey campus. The days of the week that you are scheduled will be Monday-Friday.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
