Job Title:
ILQA Underwriter

Location:

What you'll do:
As an In-Line Quality Assurance Underwriter (ILQA UW) , you'll be responsible for in-line review of conventional and government loans in the Retail Lending review or Correspondent Lending review process for specific underwriting component processes. You will partner with ILQA management to ensure that loans are reviewed in an accurate manner and identified issues are remediated in a timely manner. You'll need to minimize risk by maintaining a high level of regulatory and procedural compliance. You will manage a pipeline on a daily basis by completing sufficient underwriting reviews and perform independent research of guidelines and overlays while reviewing loans. You must be highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, organized and passionate in a team environment.
  • Perform daily in-line quality assurance reviews on a selection of high-risk criteria loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company credit and operational guidelines.
  • Analyze data and assist with recommendations as to appropriate gap-related solutions.
  • Keep abreast of all company policies and procedures as well as federal and state regulatory changes.
  • Ensure data integrity in the loan origination system by ensuring role activities are appropriately documented in the system of record.
  • Identify any suspected fraudulent activity and escalate to management all unresolved issues.
  • You'll manage daily reports and must communicate effectively with management.
  • You must be able to seamlessly transition from an independent contributor to a group collaborator.
  • You'll need to identify red flags and offer solutions based on experience and expertise.


What you'll need:
  • 5+ years of related experience or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending; including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of investor/insurer guidelines, including FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA, and USDA.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products. Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ICE Mortgage Technology/ Encompass.
