The Institutional Consulting Solutions business drives the product management, sale and service of Advisor-led workplace offerings for corporate clients, non-profits, endowments, foundations and governments entities across market segments. Products include Retirement and Corporate Cash Management sold by both core Advisors as well as specialized channels such as Graystone Consulting or our Morgan Stanley Institutional Investment Advisors.  Our products and services are designed to reduce financial stress and empower all companies and organizations and their constituents to plan, prepare for, and reach their financial goals through digital and human engagement. 

Position Summary:

As part of the ICS Scaling Strategy, Insights & Execution team, which functions as a Chief Operating Officer & Strategy shop for ICS, the ICS Sales & Business Insights AVP will work with key stake-holders to provide valuable data insights directly in support of day-to-day sales activity, trends reporting to demonstrate progress towards broader KPIs or potential pivots in strategy and drive in-depth financial analysis to ensure proactive and effective business management across this large & rapidly growing organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build familiarity with ICS organization, strategy and key metrics and work closely with the Head of ICS Business Excellence and Head of Scaling & Insights in support of driving various critical reporting efforts and initiatives to support progress towards the organization’s scaling goals.
  • Work closely with the VP of Business Excellence in support of ICS Events strategy including events budget analysis and ROA per event.
  • Work closely with the VP of Business Excellence in support of ICS Budget Management & Planning driving various critical execution and support functions, especially via financial analysis: in depth reviews of monthly expenses, alignments to budget, trend reporting, margin assessment, overall resource / PnL strategy, and sales consultant or advisor/client travel analysis.
  • Prepare and present internal strategy decks and program documents (status decks, operating updates, meeting readouts).
  • Support headcount documentation, resource mapping proposals/tracking, gearing, , budget and hiring forecast tracking for ICS (maintain trackers, summarize variances, help with planning cycles).
  • Support ICS sales & pipeline tracking, opportunity mapping, referral reporting & trends reporting around business wins and cross-sell data
  • Analyze and synthesize data into executive-ready reporting (e.g., KPIs, trends, business insights) to support proposals and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with partners & stakeholders across Morgan Stanley to align on timelines, inputs, and reporting expectations, especially on WM Strategy, Analytics & Data, Finance, & Integrated Firm Management teams.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc analysis and research requests, including data collection to support asset growth approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-6 years of relevant financial services industry, business management, strategy, analytics and data, project management, or related experience.
  • Candidate is driven to learn and grow, not afraid to ask questions and raise their hand, and shows general interest in internal growth.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to translate complex ideas into easy-to-follow updates.
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint for strategy visualizations and Excel for reporting and analytics.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills critical
    • Accuracy, attention to detail; strong organizational skills are vital
    • Strong quantitative skills
    • Ability to analyze large datasets and produce insights and recommendations based on results
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and bring focus with recommendations on solving tactical and strategic challenges

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
