The Role
Wag! is looking for an I.T. & Security Manager. You will work hands-on and cross-functionally across IT administration, infrastructure management, development, and support teams. The role requires a strong balance of day-to-day hands-on operational I.T. and core system administration alongside proactive and reactive security engineering, high-level policy design, and infrastructure management. This role is full-time and in-person 5x a week in our downtown Miami office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. This position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage and administer core corporate I.T. infrastructure, systems, and SaaS stack including MDM, Okta, and Google Workspace
- Automate I.T. helpdesk with AI agents and workflows
- Provide hands-on operational I.T. support, user provisioning, and system maintenance across corporate devices and environments.
- Provide security expertise and guidance on new projects and technologies
- Select and deploy vulnerability management tools across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and applications to detect vulnerabilities and security misconfigurations
- Facilitate internal audits and penetration tests
- Perform risk assessments and build threat models of corporate and cloud infrastructure
- Detect, investigate, and mitigate security incidents
- Partner with leadership on developing the long-term strategy for security posture, detection, and response
- Harden applications, infrastructure, and network against exploitation
- Administer firewall rule configurations
- Support infrastructure and application development teams with tooling and processes for secure design patterns and vulnerability detection
- Define and document security guidelines and procedures for secure operations
- Provide constant training to the entire company about security posture best practices
Minimum Paw-lifications
- Breadth of experience across various domains of security
- Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on root cause analysis experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of the threat landscape, common attacks, and mitigation strategies
- Strong background in hands-on system administration and operational I.T., including managing Google Workspace, Okta, and MDM solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in core infrastructure management, provisioning, and cloud/network systems operations.
- Firm grasp in the following areas:
- Network protocols and operations
- Cloud provider best practices
- Operating system internals and hardening
- API, web, and mobile application common vulnerabilities and best practices
- Ability to work in-person 5x a week in our downtown Miami office
Purr-furred Paw-lifications
- Ability to to develop tools and scripts in an interpreted programming language (ex: Python)
- Experience juggling multiple competing priorities
- Ability to deploy and configure infrastructure with pre-existing CI tooling
- Proficiency using AI agents to write code and ship automations
