Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling SpecialistJob DescriptionYou will join our Water Infrastructure & Climate Adaptation TeamAs our new Hydrology and Hydraulics Modeling Specialist, you will join a team dedicated to working with clients to deliver a wide range of water-related projects, from preliminary studies through design and construction and will work alongside our engineers, scientists, and resiliency planners, including collaborating with our global team of experienced professionals, to develop solutions to help urban and rural communities address the impacts of climate change and sustainable solutions.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:- Performing engineering calculations including hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tasks for a variety of water resources projects including stormwater management, site design, green infrastructure, watershed & floodplain studies, streambank stabilization, stormwater and combined sewer and systems
- Conducting and/or coordinating field investigations on various projects including but not limited to hydrology and hydraulic evaluations and river geomorphological investigations.
- Analyzes and interprets survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, analytical data, geologic data and other data to plan and design projects relative to the engineering discipline.
- Prepares and at times presents reports or analysis such as design calculations, field data results/conclusions and/or cost estimates. Presentation audiences may include other design team members, the project manager, the project owner or the external client.
- May communicate directly with external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, subcontractors, contractors, regulators, etc.)
- Communicates directly with other team members to progress work products. Supports preparation of proposals, fee estimates, purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- Delegates basic tasks to other team members.
- Participates in the quality review process of work products developed by others and takes ownership of providing quality work to the lead engineer or project manager.
- Participating actively to help create a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite.

- BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related Science, with 3+ years of experience hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including:
- Experience with SWMM and/or InfoWorks ICM
- USACE HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
- ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- PE License or ability to obtain license within 1-3 years

In addition to the base requirements above, having any of the following skill sets and/or experience is a plus:- Experience with MIKE + / MIKE Zero
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software packages
