This is a non-telework position located in Pearblossom.
Responsible for leading and directing technical work of the Hydroelectric Plant Technician Section in relation with control, communication, electrical and mechanical equipment at State Water Project hydroelectric facilities. Incumbent performs administrative tasks in SAP such as time approvals, program reports, requisition approvals, work order notifications; reviews new equipment and system design criteria and specifications; makes diagrams and sketches and prepares cost estimates to support installations, including test equipment and materials.

of creating and reviewing repair procedures, equipment test, calibration procedures, and trip test reports. Knowledge of State Water Project facilities and project management experience working with contractors and outside agencies to coordinate and execute work is ideal. Experience with the installation, testing, and repair, of SCADA equipment, communication equipment, IT related equipment, security systems, voice and video systems is ideal. Maintenance experience with pumping/generating plant instrumentation used for protection, and plant equipment such as power transformers, high voltage power circuit breakers, high voltage instrument transformers, governors, excitation/voltage regulators, annunciators, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and safety systems is highly desirable, as well as leadership experience training, developing, and mentoring a team.
