Responsibilities

  • Support hydraulic modeling needs across the company for diverse projects.
  • Contribute to proposal development including writing and project schedules.
  • Perform modeling tasks to assist design teams in their projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff in engineering tasks.

Full Job Description
RVA is looking for a Hydraulic Modeler to join their Urban and Riverine System team in a full-time position at our Toronto office.

Duties:
  • Develop, calibrate, and maintain hydraulic models for municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Perform infrastructure planning and assessment studies, including Municipal Class EA, Master Plans, Basement flooding, capacity analysis, and system optimization.
  • Work collaboratively on diverse projects involving model development, calibration, and system analysis to assess system performance and identify practical solutions and strategies for system optimization and improvement.
  • Support various groups across the company with hydraulic modelling and analysis and develop models to determine sound solutions for various private and municipal projects and clients.
  • Support proposal development, including write-up, project schedule, and fee estimation.
  • Perform necessary modelling tasks to support the design teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff in performing their tasks.
  • Prepare technical memorandums/ reports.
  • Perform other engineering and modelling tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field, from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered or eligible to apply for a P.Eng. license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • 3-7 years of progressive experience in water, wastewater or stormwater systems modelling and analysis
  • Aptitude for meeting project schedules and budgets
  • Strong skills in planning, writing, and reviewing technical reports and related documentation.
  • Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Hands-on experience in InfoWorks/ PCSWMM/ InfoWater Pro/ WaterGEMS
  • Working knowledge of GIS tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is from $85,000.00 - $135,000.00

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
