About the RoleAs a Humanoid Project Leader, you will Identify relevant industrial use cases, capture and prioritize industrial use-cases, operational constraints and performance targets KPI, write the associated technical specification and prepare the material needed for the humanoid training center. You will also identify the best design for the gripper based on the existing ones inside VALEO factories.
Location: Reno, NV preferred; open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities Also Include:Lead the RO humanoid training center- Fine tuning of the VLA until the accuracy KPI is reached;
- Check if the time could be optimized with simulation SIM2REAL (like NVIDIA Isaac Sim or MuJoCo).
- Train the robots on supply chain and dexterity industrial tasks with the materials delivered by the plants (real conditions);
- Lead trainees and PhD to support this activity;
- Identify and build the needed trainings for engineering and industrial VALEO teams corresponding to the technologies involved and tested;
- Prepare the robots to be sent to the VALEO plants.
- Based on lessons learned, write recommendations to start designing the future assets compatible with the humanoid constraints, in collaboration with the process engineering network ("Humanoid process design").
Maintain a technology watch- Participate in the main events or exhibition shows organized to touch the technology and build a strong external network.
- Lead division suppliers and challenge them
- Run the robots defined by division inside the RO training center
- Participate by the division suppliers to all the needed trainings to be at the best level in VLA;
- Scan permanently the panel of suppliers, involving newcomers
- Visit the supplier's facilities and invite them in VALEO plants to check their abilities in the work floor; After check-in, suggest any need to add newcomers inside the division panel and evaluate the maturity of the technology
- Experiment the technology across POC (proof of concept) workshops in the VALEO plants; Evaluate the main KPI defined and update the specifications with the lessons learned.
- Prepare a safe use of the humanoid in our factories :
- Support Division to write the safety framework to be applied worldwide;
- Support Division to build the cyber safety framework to be applied worldwide;
- Ensure ongoing compliance with evolving industrial regulations and norms
- Coordinate the activity : at division POWER level : with the Digital Manager of Regional Office (RO) Drive and the Digital Manager of RO Thermal;at Group level : with all the RO plants of BRAIN and LIGHT divisions
What You Should Have:- PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience within related field.
