Full Job Description
Winpak is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team based in Pekin, IL. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting a multi-shift manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will help deliver an exceptional employee experience by supporting leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle. You will partner closely with the HR Business Partner, Centers of Expertise, people leaders, and employees to support key HR processes, including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, wellness, leave management, HR operations, and workforce engagement. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and helping create a workplace where employees are supported, engaged, and positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support leaders and employees through core HR processes, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefits, leave management, and HR policy guidance.
  • Partner with the HRBP to guide managers through goal setting, performance reviews, development planning, talent discussions, and performance-related concerns.
  • Help deliver a strong onboarding experience that supports new hire engagement, retention, and early success.
  • Address employee concerns with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment; support conflict resolution, investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Support wellness, benefits, disability case management, accommodation planning, and return-to-work processes.
  • Assist with annual compensation processes, HR programs, training coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, generate reports, and use HR data to support operational decision-making.
  • Advise employees and people leaders on HR policies, procedures, systems, benefits, and workplace expectations.
  • Participate in OneWinpak initiatives, HR projects, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen HR service delivery and employee experience.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, with 3+ years of progressive HR experience; manufacturing or unionized environment experience is a plus.
  • Strong employee relations, coaching, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment, including occasional evening or weekend support.
  • Proficient with HRIS/HCM systems and Microsoft Office; UKG experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality, sound judgment, and a fair, consistent approach to HR practices.


Compensation Range: $80,000-$95,000. The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
