Full Job Description
The Opportunity

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will support the HR function for Seyfarth Shaw's New York, Charlotte and Miami offices. In this role, you will operate in a fast pace, entrepreneurial environment and act as a point of contact for all employees on process and procedures, and guidance on all aspects of the employee life cycle. Responsibilities include managing new hire onboarding and leave of absences processes, employee relations, and identifying coaching and training needs for staff.

The Day-To-Day

  • Interpret and implement human resources policies and procedures for attorneys and support staff
  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
  • Provides guidance to supervisors for human resource employee management including counseling, coaching, employee development and retention, warnings and performance improvement plans and termination recommendations.
  • Maintain digital records of employees
  • Manage Family Medical Leave and ADA requirements.
  • Manage new hire orientation, onboarding, I-9 verifications and staff integration process.
  • Complete termination paperwork, conduct exit interviews, record responses, analyze survey reports and recommends areas for improvement
  • Process personnel action forms, unemployment claims and Affirmative Action reports
  • Assist National Recruitment team with staff recruitment, writing job descriptions, sourcing qualified candidates, preparing offer letters
  • Partner with the Regional HR Director to assist with the annual evaluation process and ad hoc projects


You Have

Location Specific Language

The salary range for this role is $76,000 to $102,000 annually, which is based on a 40-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
