Full Job Description
AIHFS is seeking a proven Human Resources Director to provide leadership and strategic direction for the Human Resources function of the Agency; ensuring services are delivered in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, industry standards, and professional norms. The Human Resources Director is responsible for the management, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the Human Resources function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and administration of all Human Resources policies, procedures, plans, and practices based upon current laws, regulations, and the needs of the agency.
  • Responsible for overseeing the HRIS platform, the record keeping protocol, the collection of audit data, the compilation of key metrics, and the reporting of findings.
  • Maintaining confidential safeguards at all times.
  • Advises and assists the leadership team in the implementation and problem solving related to Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Management of credentialing/privileging process for providers and annual renewals as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable about relevant changes to HR related laws, regulations, and industry best practices; and accordingly advises the agency leadership team, updates Employee Manual, and provides guidance to all staff.
  • Conducts annual compensation review in cooperation with industry partner, Michigan Primary Care Associate (MPCA).
  • Oversees the coordination of employee benefits including Health, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc...
  • Oversight or direct performance of inquiries of the verification of employment, garnishment of wages, and unemployment claim requests for information.
  • Evaluates and oversees (1) all aspects of recruitment, salary and contract negotiations, (2) internal and external job postings procedures and interviewing and selection processes, and (3) onboarding/orientation processes for new staff including background check, reference check and pre-employment screenings/clearances.
  • Monitors timely completion of 90-day, bonus, and annual employee performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Investigates all employee concerns, complaints, and grievances and facilitates conflict resolution sessions.
  • Oversee and monitor termination procedures, including benefit continuation, documentation, and the recovery of agency property.
  • Educate staff on employment issues, including but not limited to, diversity, harassment, customer service, team effectiveness, confidentiality, work ethic, etc.
  • Oversee, schedule, and coordinate professional growth opportunities, staff development trainings, employee/management education, and annual compliance training.
  • Directly manage HR staff and carry-out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws.
  • Lead the design and implementation of effective human resources programs, systems and initiatives.
  • Engages in various agency committees, department, and Ad Hoc meetings.
  • Identify relevant conferences, trainings and meetings and coordinates meeting (virtual) times and travel as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Strategic Planning and Process Improvement:
  • Implements strategic planning recommendations and process improvements to streamline human resources and business processes.
  • Serves as strategic resource and partner to the agency leadership team to ensure the agency's policies, procedures and culture are aligned with business unit goals, the agency's strategic direction.
  • Supports Agency leadership in all organizational needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on time.
  • Ability to anticipate, think strategically and challenge decisions appropriately in support of organizational goals.
  • Ability to provide sound judgement and sound business acumen independently with respect to matters of significant.
  • Ability to develop partnerships and influence all levels of the organization when required.
  • Ability to work effectively with others at all level (internal/external)
  • Represent AIHFS to external groups and consortia.
  • Ability to arrange and facilitate business meetings.


Education/Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources or other related business field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible HR administrative experience required.
  • Must be proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
  • HR experience in healthcare preferred
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid MI Chauffeur's license; other credential or licenses must be kept current and consistent with applicable regulations if necessary for the position.
