Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner supports leaders and employees throughout the New York region. This role provides practical HR guidance in employee relations, hiring, onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, and HR operations.

Responsibilities
  • Advise managers on employee relations, performance, corrective action, policy interpretation, and employment practices.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend fair, consistent resolutions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and managers to identify hiring needs and define job requirements.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and work with managers to develop and execute onboarding plans for all new employees.
  • Enter employee changes accurately and promptly into Workday.
  • Support performance reviews, employee development, workforce planning, and organizational changes.
  • Coach managers on communication, documentation, employee engagement, and leadership practices.
  • Implement HR programs and policies while supporting compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Review workforce data and employee feedback to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support employees and managers across regional offices, jobsites, and remote work locations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, onboarding, and HR administration.
  • Working knowledge of federal and New York employment requirements.
  • Strong judgment, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Ability to travel within the New York region as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Workday.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, skilled trades, or another field-based industry.
  • Experience supporting remote or geographically dispersed employees.
Salary Range Information

New York Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000. The range stated is specific to New York. The range listed depends on many factors, including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles), and internal company equity.
