About the Role

Success Academy is hiring an Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to own our core People programs, sharpen everyday HR operations, and serve as a trusted advisor to our Network Office leaders - including regular, direct interaction with executive-level stakeholders on their toughest talent challenges.

Reporting directly to the Leader, People, and in close collaboration with the Head of People and Chief People Officer, this role will put you at the center of our talent and workforce strategy, with a direct line into how senior leadership makes decisions. You won't manage a team - you'll own major HR projects end-to-end, influence executive thinking, fix what is broken, and continuously improve our talent management. If you like independent ownership, high-visibility work, and turning messy processes into clean ones, this role is built for you.
  • Success Academy is the country's highest-performing, fastest-growing public charter school network - a best-in-class, disruptive innovator that delivers complex services and solutions for 2,500 employees, 59 schools in NYC, with 5 more opening in Florida in 2027.
  • We move fast, own outcomes early, and back people who experiment, learn, and continuously improve - individuals who are gritty with a high standard of excellence thrive here.
  • You'll get hands-on ownership, direct mentorships, and a front-row seat to how a high-performing organization actually runs.
  • Your work here would absolutely improve the lives of real families. If you want to do something that actually matters, this is it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own Core HR Programs: Lead compensation cycles, talent reviews, engagement surveys, and exit trend analysis - with findings presented directly to senior leadership.
  • Advise Senior Leaders: Serve as a go-to strategic partner for Network Office executives on employee-relations issues, bringing clear data and sharp recommendations to the table.
  • Shape Talent Strategy: Surface workforce trends and insights that directly inform executive decision-making on hiring, performance, and retention.
  • Simplify Operations: Remove bottlenecks, retire outdated tools, and keep everyday HR processes running smoothly.
  • Drive Alignment: Communicate proactively across teams, keep work on track, and meet deadlines.
  • Own Outcomes: Act with transparency, learn fast from mistakes, and adapt quickly when priorities shift.

Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of HR experience, with experience managing HR programs, employee relations, or workforce data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with HR systems (Workday HCM required) and spreadsheet/data tools (Excel, Tableau, or similar).
  • Track record of running cross-functional projects independently, start to finish.
  • Solid understanding of core HR practices, labor laws, and team dynamics.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Competencies
  • Practical Problem-Solving: Diagnoses root causes and builds solutions that last.
  • Self-Starter: Spot issues early, tackles tough challenges directly, and delivers solid work.
  • Direct & Collaborative: Builds trust through honesty and helps the team continuously improve to achieve their goals.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

At Success Academy, we invest boldly in our Network team with a comprehensive package designed to support your health, financial future, and overall well-being:
  • Day-One Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting your first day (SA covers 82% of our core medical plan), plus a free One Medical membership and confidential mental health support via EAP/Talkspace.
  • Financial Security: 403(b) retirement plan with a 3% employer match, up to $2,400/year in employer HSA contributions, employer-paid life/disability insurance, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility.
  • Time to Recharge: Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
  • Perks & Stipends: A $50/month cellphone stipend ($600/year), pre-tax commuter benefits, backup family care, and performance-based earning incentives.

This is a hybrid position based out of our NYC Financial District office, requiring on-site work Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. This position is not bonus eligible.
