Position Overview

As our HR Business Partner, you will provide HR guidance to strengthen workforce capability, support a 24/7 manufacturing environment, and drive organizational performance. This role leads key talent initiatives, manages complex employee relations, ensures compliance, and delivers workforce insights that inform both operational and long-term planning. Through strong partnerships and continuous improvement, you will shape a high-performance, safety-focused culture.

*This on-site position supports a 24/7 manufacturing environment requiring occasional adjusted hours.

Location:

On-site in Lynchburg, VA at the nation's largest nuclear manufacturing facility. Relocation available.

Your Day to Day as a Human Resources Business Partner:
  • Provide strategic HR guidance through consistent floor engagement, proactively addressing workforce trends and emerging issues.
  • Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to shape hiring strategies that strengthen workforce capability and long-term talent pipelines.
  • Advise leaders and employees on policies, procedures, and employment laws, offering recommendations that support consistency, compliance, and business goals.
  • Serve as a consultant to leadership on employee relations and performance matters, delivering insights aligned with operational priorities.
  • Lead fact-based, compliant employee relations investigations and provides clear, strategic recommendations for resolution and improvement.
  • Coordinate HR programs such as benefits enrollment, compliance training, site communications, career fairs, and recognition events.
  • Oversee compliance and confidentiality of personnel files and required postings, recommending improvements that mitigate risk.
  • Develop and interpret workforce analytics to inform decision-making, modernize HR practices, and enhance organizational performance.


Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • At least 6 years of HR experience across staffing, benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, and employment law.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to compliance.
  • Effective time management and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Clear, professional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.


Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Autotime, WorkDay).

Pay: $79,000 - $119,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $79,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
