  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate HSSE best practices into operations.
  • Support leadership in promoting local and corporate QHSSE initiatives.

Job Description

The HSSE Project Support Advisor will support the relevant Business Partner to provide dedicated Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) subject matter expertise and support to contribute to the execution excellence, sustainability and proactive HSSE management of Fugro operational projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Contribute to project life cycle by supporting, facilitating and/or training on the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP), including but not limited to Hazard Identification (HAZID), Medical Emergency Response Plans (MERP), HSSE Plans, and client engagements.
  • Train, coach, mentor and support Service Line and project teams to drive understanding, compliance and improvement.
  • Support the verification of adherence of HAZID controls and HSSE Plans within field operations.
  • Drive consistency and efficiency across Project Execution Plans.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure HSSE best practices and lessons learned are identified and integrated into business operations.
  • Support leadership teams with promoting and implementing local, regional, and corporate QHSSE initiatives to achieve satisfactory results in meeting objectives and goals as outlined.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Possess a valid passport or can obtain one, along with a valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) or can obtain one.
  • High school diploma required. A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Have 5 years or more of experience in an HSSE-related role, preferably within the offshore energy, survey, environmental, and/or drilling industries.
  • Have 3 years or more of experience as a member of a project team, supporting HSSE-related functions within offshore energy, survey, environmental, and/or drilling industries.
  • Possess HSSE-related professional certificates, such as CPS, OHST, CHST, ASP, CSHO, CSM, and CSD, is preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% to Fugro work locations as needed, with the flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to address urgent issues.
