Overview:The
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HSE programs. This role ensures compliance with local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental standards, including
ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO
14001 (Environmental Management), and
ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management). The HSE Manager will drive continuous improvement, foster a strong safety and environmental culture, and support sustainability initiatives at the site and regional levels.

Job DescriptionWHAT YOU'LL DOHealth & Safety Management- Implement and oversee regional Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and initiatives aligned with ISO 45001 and regulatory requirements.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure employees and managers follow HSE best practices.
Environmental Management & Sustainability- Manage environmental compliance programs in accordance with ISO 14001 and environmental regulations.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and implement strategies to reduce environmental risks and carbon footprint.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate sustainable practices into business operations.
Quality & Continuous Improvement- Ensure HSE processes align with ISO 9001 quality management principles to support operational excellence.
- Partner with leadership teams to integrate HSE into lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and engagement across the organization.
- Work closely with corporate HSE teams, site leadership, and external stakeholders to improve safety and environmental performance.
Job RequirementsWHAT YOU'LL NEED- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in regional or site-level HSE management within manufacturing, logistics, or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and their practical application.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Microsoft familiarity, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PPT

The pay or salary range listed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum projected rate of pay for the specific position across our United States locations. Equally as important, as a team member, individual earnings may consider knowledge, skills, abilities, work location and related factors. The current base salary range for this position is $90
,000-$100,000. Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs. Some roles in the company may offer an additional annual bonus. Additional details on salary or pay ranges and benefits will be available through the interview and employment process. Salary or pay ranges are separate from bonus opportunities and/or benefit plans.
