Overview:The HSE Manager will be responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously improving health, safety, and environmental practices for solar energy projects throughout the US. This role requires a strong understanding of HSE regulations, renewable energy technologies, and solar field operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing safety and environmental compliance within the renewable energy sector and will be able to lead efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel and the protection of the environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for solar field projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor adherence to safety protocols and identify potential hazards or environmental risks.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to develop site-specific HSE plans and strategies.
- Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency response drills for all team members and contractors.
- Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations, and root cause analysis for any incidents or near misses.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of HSE activities, including incident reports, safety audits, and environmental monitoring.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, best practices, and innovations related to renewable energy and solar field operations.
- Support the implementation of sustainable practices to minimize the environmental impact of solar field installations and maintenance.
- Provide guidance and support to contractors and subcontractors regarding HSE compliance and best practices.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among all project personnel.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent HSE certification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in HSE Management, with at least 2 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically in solar field operations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in renewable energy and construction safety.
- Experience in developing and delivering HSE training programs.
- Proven ability to assess and manage risks associated with solar field construction and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and sustainable energy practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE management software.
