Full Job Description
Summary

This position is responsible for advising, assisting, leading and coaching management and employees with direction and implementation of the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and policies at the Enerflex Houston manufacturing facility. Responsible for developing and implementing Safety and Health programs in order to maintain a safe, hazard/incident free workplace and to ensure compliance with the company's policies/procedures and with local, state and federal regulations. Performs duties under the authority of the Director, HSE.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental processes and systems at the Houston manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory organizations and all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Train management and supervisors to implement HSE programs in accordance with Safety department initiatives.
  • Perform monthly and annual internal audits of the HSE programs and facilitate external audits.
  • Liaise with various departments, governmental agencies, safety associations, customer representatives, and contractors.
  • Perform and assist with incident reporting, investigation and 'root cause' analysis. Ensure that corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Assist in the development, scheduling and coordination of HSE training.
  • Leading in-house HSE training with managers and employees on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor and evaluate potential hazards; develops proactive solutions to minimize risks or hazards.
  • Ensure all HSE inspections are completed.
  • Keeps records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
  • Keeps records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers.
  • Keeps up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
  • Maintains site documentation and records.
  • Ensure that work related injuries are effectively case managed.
  • Coordinates facility waste management program.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal environmental permitting requirements.
  • Continuous enhancement of professional skills.
  • Make recommendations for salary increases, promotions and transfers.
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluation of direct reports
  • Coaching and team building to develop a team devoted to excellence
  • Counseling and disciplining of employees where needed.
  • Provide HSE presence on the workshop floor, providing employee coaching and management feedback.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the Houston manufacturing facility.
  • On call as needed.


Qualifications

  • 4 year degree plus 5 years' experience, or 10 years' experience in manufacturing industry, in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of SWPPP, SPCC, and RCRA required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced workshop environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic travel is possible on occasion.
