Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for an HR Specialist, located in Raynham, MA.

The HR Specialist plays a key role in supporting a fair, compliant, and respectful workplace at DePuy Synthes. This position partners closely with HR leaders, managers, and employees to address employee relations matters, support labor relations activities, and ensure consistent application of company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and employment laws. The role provides hands-on support in investigations, conflict resolution, and union-related activities, contributing to a positive employee experience and strong labor-management relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace conduct issues, attendance, and policy interpretation.


  • Assist with employee relations investigations, including fact-finding, documentation, and preparation of findings and recommendations.


  • Support labor relations activities at unionized sites, including interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.


  • Partner with managers and HR Business Partners to resolve employee concerns in a timely, fair, and consistent manner.


  • Assist with grievance handling, including preparation of responses, tracking, and participation in meetings as needed.


  • Maintain accurate employee relations and labor relations documentation in accordance with internal policies and legal requirements.


  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.


  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ER/LR processes, tools, and training resources.


Where required to be managed locally:

  • Document handling: Print, stamp/seal, mail/ship, distribute, and route documents for wet signatures.


  • Records management: Store/archive/retrieve HR documents; fulfill requests; coordinate offsite storage; scan and name for Veeva.


  • Compliance/admin: Upload/submit filings; print and hand-deliver to agencies; support audits and onsite audit coordination.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field required.


  • Master's degree or advanced HR/LR coursework preferred.


Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Typically 4-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with direct exposure to Employee Relations and/or Labor Relations activities.


  • Working knowledge of employee relations practices, workplace investigations, and corrective action processes.


  • Familiarity with labor relations concepts, union environments, and collective bargaining agreements.


  • Understanding of U.S. employment laws and regulations.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly.


  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.


Preferred:

  • Experience supporting HR in a manufacturing or operations environment.


  • Experience working in a unionized setting.


  • Exposure to grievance processes and labor-management meetings.


  • Knowledge of HRIS and case management systems.


  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.


Other:

  • Language requirements: English proficiency required.


  • Travel: Up to 10% domestic travel may be required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$94,000.00 - $151,800.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
• Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
• Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
• Volunteer Leave - 32 hours per calendar year
• Military Spouse Time-Off - 80 hours per calendar year
