Maintenance Manager
Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Manager leads the facility project efforts, the preventative and predictive maintenance efforts in order to support production. The Maintenance Manager develops and leads the maintenance team to achieve company uptime goals.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 10 years progressive experience in multi-trade industrial maintenance
Preferred Qualifications - Some post-secondary education; associate or bachelor's degree in related field
- Previous management experience in multi-trade industrial maintenance or related field
Job-Specific Knowledge and SkillsExcellent understanding/knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, PLC, electrical and mechanical maintenance; excellent understanding/knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance principles; excellent understanding of housekeeping and safety principles; meticulous attention to detail and ability to research and solve problems; Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS utilization; good math, reading and blueprint reading skills; ability to present positive communications to departmental employees; communication, coaching, counseling and managing skills are essential with proven ability to influence behavior; flexibility in working hours so as to be available when needed; OSHA knowledge will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute plant Maintenance strategies, advancing the organization toward proactive and root cause-based activities, according to company standards to achieve company uptime goals
- Implement, monitor, sustain preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives to increase uptime/mean time to failure & reduce unplanned downtime. Plan, coordinate, and execute planned outages in routine intervals
- Lead the engineering and project efforts, suggesting and supporting process and equipment improvements, developing, and executing plant CAPEX plans, and ensuring competitive bidding processes according to company expectations to ensure project completions with the best possible outcomes
- Develop leaders and technicians in the department by leading and executing effective training strategies, according to company standards to ensure top-notch performance and team centered interactions with the production department. Foster an environment where employees will willingly make extra effort to exceed goals and look for opportunities to improve our processes and develop a lean, responsive and knowledgeable workforce
- Develop and contribute to effective troubleshooting processes, according to industry standards to achieve company uptime goals
- Respond to and resolve any breakdowns, discrepancies or non-conforming machine performance based on departmental procedure in order for the management team to make corrections or adjustments to processes appropriately
- Set an example, apply and provide accountability of all safety programs, participation in safety practices, LOTO programs and wearing of PPE according to company standards and government regulations in order to facility a safe working environment. Communicate and provide compliance of all company strategic initiatives.
Working ConditionsExposed to outside conditions year-round; Frequent exposure to molten metal at temperatures reaching 1300 degrees F. Frequent exposure to extreme ambient temperatures depending on the season. Frequent exposure to overhead loads. Frequent exposure to possible pinch points. Frequent exposure to loud noise.Physical RequirementsLow frequency lifting up to 50 lbs.; low frequency use of forklift/mobile equipment; physical demands include low frequency lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking and reaching into/working in tight areas. Frequent visual and audio monitoring of processes. Low frequency climbing over 4 feet. Low frequent operation of overhead crane. High frequency of visual monitoring of HMI panels and PLC driven panels. Frequent data entry of necessary maintenance information. Low frequent use of raised maintenance platform over 4 feet. Low frequency confined space entry.
